This year's art theme is Radical Ritual, and according to the organizers, they are inviting "participants to create interactive rites, ritual processions, elaborate images, shrines, icons, temples, and visions.”
What better way to participate in the art at The Burn than donning costumes that pays homage to the sacred and the sacrilegious. Whether you opt to dress as a Goddess and command your subjects about, become a living icon for the masses, or just start spraying people with holy water, the choice is yours
LIKE A VIRGIN BURNER
Madonna, the queen of sacrilege started her own radical revolution when she donned a white lace outfit and a cross and become an icon, so why don't you do the same? Bonus! This outfit could be perfect for White Wednesday.
BURKA BABE
Nothing says sacrilegious like wearing the top of a burka with some skimpy underwear. Can't visualize it? Check out this woman's outfit.
If you dare to bare and want to make ripples with your new radical ritual, this is all you need (collar and leash for your partner not included):
Golden Goddess
This one will turn the institution on its head! Break the news to everyone that God, is in fact, a woman, and then demand that they all kneel in supplication and pay homage to your shining glory:
HOLY WATER FOR THE DESERT
Bless us, for we have sinned, and sinned, and sinned, and it isn't likely to stop. Spice up your days on the playa by hearing confessions, meting out punishments, and pouring holy water down everyone's throats as you absolve them of their sins.
PLAYA TROLL
Let's get meta shall we? What better way to participate in this year's theme than rolling yourself up into one big trope. Start by telling everyone that Daft Punk is playing at the trash fence, and don't forget to offer them bacon as a parting gift. Sparkle on sparkle pony.
And if none of these speak to you, perhaps it's time to start your own ritual. Check out more ideas for The Burn with these outfits.
